I was just informed at 11:00 pm on 2-15-17 about the death of Nell Sumner. Buddy is an active member of the NCRPOA and has served in almost every position over the years. Nell was also a great part of the Association she was the Historian for several years. she is go to be miss by all of us that knew her.

GREENSBORO Nell Sumner of Greensboro died Monday, February 13, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Nell retired from First Home Federal and Forbis and Dick Funeral Service. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille B. and Clyde L. Branson, son Charles "Chuck" F. Sumner III, granddaughter Jennifer Sumner, sister Joyce Riddle, and brother Jimmie C. Branson. She is survived by her husband, Charles "Buddy" F. Sumner, Jr., daughter Angela Sumner Reid, seven grandchildren, Alyssa Routh, Aaren Routh, Jackson Myers, Bryceson Myers, Matthew Sumner, Wendy Shrewsbury, and Kristin Sumner, two great-grandchildren, brother Douglas S. Branson and wife Anne of Greenville, SC; and extended families Leigh Ann McPeak, Amado Garcia and Carol Cervantes and many more. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Centenary United Methodist Church, 2300 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403 or to the donor's choice.
